Tipper truck transport

Tipper truck transport in Kenya

Tippers are the workhorse of loose bulk haulage — quick to load at a quarry, quick to discharge at a site or stockpile. FleetGrid Africa coordinates tipper truck capacity across Kenya through vetted transport partners, so contractors, quarries and plants get the right tippers when they need them.

When a tipper is the right truck

A tipper suits cargo that is loaded loose and discharged by tipping: aggregates, sand, ballast, hardcore, murram, clinker, limestone and similar materials. It removes the need for manual offloading and shortens turnaround at the delivery point, which matters when one site needs dozens of loads.

FleetGrid Africa does not operate its own tippers. We coordinate capacity through vetted transport partners — independent truck owners, fleet operators and transport companies — and manage the assignment from planning to proof of delivery.

Cargo moved by tipper

Typical tipper loads we coordinate:

  • Aggregates, ballast and quarry products
  • River and quarry sand
  • Hardcore, murram and fill material
  • Limestone from quarries to cement and lime plants
  • Clinker between plants and grinding sites
  • Coal and other loose minerals, with sheeting where required

Choosing tipper configurations

Tipper capacity is usually described by body size and payload. We match the configuration to your tonnage, the road to site and the discharge area, and confirm it with you before allocation.

  • Rigid tippers for site deliveries and shorter cycles
  • Larger tippers for higher-tonnage quarry and plant runs
  • Sheeted tippers for dusty materials and long highway trips

Loading, delivery and capacity allocation

We confirm the loading point, weighbridge arrangements and the discharge area before dispatch. For projects that need continuous supply, we plan partner tippers against your daily volumes so loads arrive in a steady rhythm.

Partner tippers carry tracking devices, and our operations team shares status updates on request. After discharge, signed delivery notes are collected as proof of delivery and tonnage is reconciled against weighbridge records.

Why work with FleetGrid Africa for tipper capacity

Instead of calling around for individual tipper owners, you work with one coordination partner who vets vehicles, plans capacity and keeps the paperwork in order. Our Insights guide to choosing trucks for clinker, coal and limestone explains tipper selection in more detail.

Questions

Tipper truck transport: common questions

Can I hire a tipper for a single load?

Share the requirement and we will check partner availability. Programmes of repeat loads are usually easier to plan and price.

Do you own the tippers?

No. We coordinate tipper capacity through vetted transport partners and manage the assignment for you.

Where in Kenya do you operate?

We coordinate tipper transport across Kenya, subject to partner capacity for the specific route.

How is tipper transport priced?

Pricing depends on material, tonnage, distance, road conditions to site, waiting time and the number of loads. We quote after reviewing the job.

Do you supply the material as well?

No. We coordinate transport only; the material is supplied by you or your supplier.

Can you help us insure our cargo?

Cargo insurance is arranged separately from transport. If you need cover for your cargo, we can introduce you to an IRA-licensed insurance broker. You buy the policy directly from them. Contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

Need tipper trucks for your project?

Tell us the material, tonnage and site, and we will line up partner tippers and a plan.
